Teacher appreciation flowers are one of my favorite ways to get creative for teacher appreciation week! The flowers are beautiful but the fluttering butterfly adds an extra whimsical touch. Teachers work so hard and I love going the extra mile on teacher appreciation week to show our teachers how much we love them and appreciate everything they do. In this post I have linked everything I used to make this whimsical floral arrangement and a free printable tag you can download. Teacher appreciation flowers supplies
To create your whimsical teacher appreciation flower arrangement here is what you will need:
- small pedestal urn – I purchased this small one but you can use anything you have at home.
- floral foam rounds (I used two)
- a solar/battery operated butterfly Or this one if that is sold out.
- flowers
- ribbon
Assembly
Place the foam rounds in water and allow them to soak up the water. Do not push them down in the water, they will slowly submerge and do so on their own. Once the foam rounds have absorbed the water, stack them on top of each other in the urn. Start adding your flowers, I like to start with my filler flowers first and then add blooms to fill any gaps. You want to make sure the arrangement is tight so that there is enough clearance for the butterfly to float around. Lastly, I added the butterfly in the middle of the foam round and poked all the way through. The butterfly is both battery and solar operated (there is a battery chamber- you just have to pull hard). I pulled off the solar attachment for my arrangement, but if your teacher loves gardening you may want to leave it on so he/she can use it outside.
Here is the link to the printable tag. There is a option from the class or from an individual student. These are for personal use only. Please don’t sell or distribute them.
With love,
