Summer Craft Nights – Shell Trinket Dish & DIY Spritz Bar

shahla · July 20, 2026 · Leave a Comment

This shell trinket dish is one of my favorite summer craft nights and an easy way to get the girls together. I’ve hosted this for my friends and my daughter’s friends and it’s always a hit. Usually paired with a DIY spritz bar for the adults and an easy summertime pasta salad so that I can mingle with guests instead of being stuck in the kitchen or making drinks.

I’ll have all the printables available for download at the end of this blogpost. This is perfect for your summer craft nights. Also this post contains affiliate links which means I make a commission when you shop through those links at no additional cost to you. Thanks for supporting the blog.

Summer Craft Nights Shopping List – Shell Trinket Dish

All the supplies needed for a summer craft night making oyster trinket dish- oyster and scallop shells, brushes, mod podge, decorative napkins, gold paint and scissors.

  • Shells I like these shells a lot or these oyster ones
  • I buy a variety of printed napkins from HomeGoods, Marshalls or TJ Maxx
  • Mod Podge
  • Bulk Brushes (flat ones for the mod podge and thin ones for detailing)
  • Metallic paint for the rim (I put out a variety of silver, gold and even a few fun colors in case people wanted to experiment).

When making your trinket dish it’s important to remove the white layer of the napkins (they are all usually two-ply). Then add a thin layer of mod podge onto the shell and stick the napkin on. Then tear off any excess and mod podge on top. Once dry you can paint the rim of the shell.

I like to have a couple trinket dishes completely prepared before my summer craft nights as an example.

Nothing says summer like a nice spritz. I used a blue and white floral planter as my ice bucket. I learned the hard way after my summer craft night that this does leak. So the next time I placed a tray under it. I placed a printable with directions on how to make a spritz. I love the passion fruit liqueur! It makes for such a good summer flavor! And always check your Trader Joe’s for garnishes. This is one of my fave bowls that I use all summer long. If there is one thing I love collecting it’s eclectic dishes. This oyster dish is one of my most complimented pieces as is this one.

When I have to bring something to a party or if I’m hosting and want something light but flavorful, this orzo pasta dish is a favorite with my family. It’s an adaptation from a few different recipes. I love it served freshly made and warm or left in the fridge overnight so that the flavors really come out. Here is the recipe card for you to download.

With love,
