Valentine Family Dinner- Shower Them With Love

shahla · January 7, 2025 · Leave a Comment

Our Valentine family dinner tradition has been going strong now for quite a few years now. It started with me punching out a bunch of hearts and writing everything I love about my family members. Kind of like affirmations. I created a floating centerpiece and made a special dinner for us to have as a family. It was my way to shower my family with love.

Before anyone comes for me about the meaning of Valentine’s Day, I get it. My husband is my Valentine- I am in love with my husband. That being said. I hate going out for dinner on Valentine’s Day and would rather do something with the family (especially when the kids were little!!). Plus, I LOVE love and love sharing it with everyone I love. So I’ll go out for date nights on any night BUT Valentine’s day (or New Year’s…but that’s another story).

Valentine Family Dinner Set-Up

Here is what you need to create your own Valentine family dinner:

  • Red and pink cardstock
  • White Paint/chalk marker
  • Jumbo heart paper punch (or use a Cricut) – I like this 3 inch one or you can try a 2 inch for smaller hearts
  • Fishing wire
  • Adhesive Dots
  • Branch or rod to hang the hearts from
  • Adhesive Hooks
  • Fairy lights

First, punch out a bunch of hearts and write everything you love about your family members using the white paint marker. Then, attach the hearts to fish wire using adhesive dots and hang them to the branch /rod that you have attached from your ceiling. You can use adhesive hooks to hang the branch/rod. If you are worried about this holding you can use screws (I hang a lot of things for various holidays so I opted for the holes and screws!). Lastly, add fairy lights, flowers and enjoy your Valentine family dinner and showering your family with love!

With love,

Shahla
