As you can probably tell already, I LOVE Halloween. I also LOVE coffee. And I LOVE changing up our three-tiered stand that we usually use as a coffee bar. This year I wanted to add a little art above our coffee area and give it a witchy vibe! This post contains affiliate links, which means I make commission at no extra charge to you.
My three-tiered stand is from here. The décor changes based on the season. It turns into a hot chocolate bar around Christmas, hearts-themed for Valentine’s Day and bunnies for Easter.
For this Halloween’s witch theme, I created the Witches’ Brew sign (and have included it at the bottom for free download) to make it look like the witch was making a magic potion in a coffee mug. I added the line “warding off mombies since 1671” because according to my trusty sidekick Google that’s when coffee was “invented”. I had it printed at Stapes using their architectural prints online for less than $5. The frame is from Ikea (found it in the garage) and worked perfectly for this project.
I found the ghost mason jar, striped straws and skull and crossbones stirrers from Target. The orange and black cloth napkins were a Marshalls find! I added some glittery spiders that I found in our Halloween décor storage.
The ceramic cat is supposed to be a candy dish (from the Target Bullseye’s Playground) but it worked perfectly to hold our coffee capsules.
I fell in love with the Rae Dunn Halloween line (possibly last year’s collection). Full disclosure: I had no idea that Rae Dunn has such a cult following where people line up in front of Marshalls/TJ Maxx/HomeGoods 30 minutes before the store opens to grab up whatever new items are in stock (and then flip the items online at a huge markup). Since I am not willing to pay something like $50 a mug to a third party vendor I had to think of something else. I like Rae Dunn because of the simplicity of her designs. So, I was inspired by her style to create my own mugs/glasses.
I went to the dollar store to purchase a few black mugs and some glasses. Then, I used my cutting machine to cut out words in a skinny font on permanent vinyl. I then attached the vinyl to my mugs and glasses. This achieved just the Rae-Dunn-look I was going for!
Those steel pumpkins are perfect for an iced coffee or a Moscow mule when the desire strikes! I found them at Marshalls, they were available in a copper color too. Everything else on that bottom tier is a Target find.
Do you decorate for Halloween? I would love to hear about your traditions.
