DIY Face Mask Organizer

shahla · July 20, 2020 · 2 Comments

This is a weird time; never did I think I would be posting about a DIY face mask organizer. And yet here we are. I hope this post finds you and your family healthy and happy. Living in California, wearing masks has become the new normal. Scrambling to look for a mask before we leave the house has also become our normal! We try to keep a mask for each person in the car (usually the cupholder is a great place to keep them). People are sharing fantastic organization ideas for their face masks all over the internet.

This cane DIY face mask organizer was made with items that I already had at home left over from other projects. I spent less than $10 on the project! This post contains affiliate links which means I receive a commission at no additional charge to you. It helps keep this site up and running. Many thanks for your continued support!

This Ikea Bekvam spice rack I had left over from a book ledge project was perfect for our organizer. If you have an IKEA near you it is only five dollars to purchase one. If not, here is an option that will cost you a little over ten dollars. I also had an extra sheet of cane from a furniture project that I thought would look great. I needed hooks to hang the face masks so I purchased these ones here and spray painted them gold. Rust-Oleum makes one of my favorite shades of gold spray paint. It is my go-to every time I need to make something golden!

The cane sheet was cut to fit (with a little extra at the end so I could fold and glue the bottom down). I used a hot glue gun to attach the cane to the wood. Once the gold paint on the command hooks were dry, I stuck them onto the bottom of the spice rack. The face mask organizer turned out great! We hung it in the garage with all of our cleaning supplies. Now, we have easy access to our masks and sanitizers when we need them. Another helpful addition has been placing a container for masks that need to be washed. This helps me keep on top of washing the face masks regularly.

Would love to hear any tips you have on keeping your masks at arms length or your thoughts on this DIY face mask organizer!
