When it comes to applying sunscreen, I am diligent about applying every morning, but in the past I was forgetful about reapplying. These days, it is so much easier with various products on the market to reapply sun protection throughout the day. In this post, I have rounded up my favorite sunscreen products to keep your skin protected throughout the day.

First Base of SPF
In the morning I start out with a tinted moisturizer of at least SPF 50. There are two I really like and switch between. Both come in un-tinted formulations too! This one by SkinCeuticals is a splurge ( but really it is only double the price because it is double the size and lasts all spring and summer), and does an amazing job evening my skin tone, blurring imperfections and protecting my skin. Another one I love just as much is by La Roche Posay and is found at your local drugstore. I love the way it makes my skin glow. Both do not leave a white film on your skin, a definite plus!
Eyes
The delicate area around my eyes is where I developed my first sun spot. Boo! I tried a bunch of different eye creams with sunscreen. This one is my favorite because it has an SPF 50 and is non-migrating. I like how it also is tinted and lightens up my under-eye area.
Lips
Another place I found dreaded sunspots was on my lips. Here is the thing with most lip treatments with sunscreen…they have a gross aftertaste. I finally found one that did not taste awful. This one by Vanicream moisturizes, protects and is less than $6! Only negative is that it does leave a bit of a white cast but nothing that cannot be corrected with lip color or gloss.
Reapply…Reapply…Reapply
I don’t need to tell you how bad it is to not reapply sunscreen. Especially during peak sun hours. When I had a field-based sales job my complaint was that I did not want to mess with my makeup and used a compact with minimal sun protection. Now there are so many different products that you can easily apply on the go.
- Mist Love that this one is SPF 50 and is refreshing during warmer months!
- Loose Powder: I have one of these Supergoop powders in my car, gym bag and kids’ backpacks. I know my kids will do a better job applying the powder before recess or physical education than a liquid form. There are two kinds that I love. This one by Colorescience is the splurge. This one is less but also love it just as much. A friend of mine also dusts it on her hair part that easily burns during the warmer months.
- Pressed powder (tinted but not a lot of coverage)
How diligent are you when it comes to applying sunscreen throughout the day?
With love,
Shahla
