My husband started asking me what I wanted for Mother’s Day weeks ago. You see, my birthday, our anniversary and Mother’s Day are within a five-day span of each other. No pressure, right? This year, instead of answering with my usual request for shoes, I put more thought into what I truly wanted. I came up a few tangible and not tangible things I want for Mother’s Day.
One-on-one-time
I love taking my kids on dates alone in order to spend quality time with each of them. While I cherish this one-on-one time, I do not get the opportunity to do it too often. My daughter usually chooses the library, a picnic and getting her nails done. My son most likely chooses the park, pizza and feeding the ducks. We leave our date days feeling recharged and better connected!
Family Outing
We spend a lot of time on the weekends dividing and conquering. Whether it is driving the kids to their sporting events, playdates or birthday parties; it feels like weekends are rushed and we only have time to eat together. I would love to schedule out a weekend to spend together as a family without interruptions.
Whether it is going on a hike together or riding our bikes on the trail, the uninterrupted time is good for this momma’s soul!
Wellness Retreat
Okay, so this would be my selfish request. I would love to go away for a day and participate in hot yoga classes, drink green juice and finish the day with a therapeutic massage.
Flowers
Even before my children could talk, they showed their love by bringing me the flowers they picked. I cannot think of a better symbol of love on Mother’s Day than having them choose the flowers for me.
For more than 40 years, 1-800-Flowers.com® has been providing customers a thoughtful and caring way to express their feelings to friends and family near and far. My husband always consults the kids on gifts for me. My daughter told him pink is my second favorite color and that he needed to order me pink flowers for Mother’s Day. When he asked her what my first favorite color is she replied, “Gold, because she tries to paint everything gold.” I am totally guilty of that.
The selection of Perfect Pink Petals from 1-800-Flowers.com® are elegant and classic. These flowers have an incredible wow factor! My daughter chose to add some purple/violet-toned roses too (since that is her favorite color).
Every time I see the flowers I smile, because not only are they gorgeous, but I also see the look of pride in my children’s faces when presenting me with their beautiful, thoughtful gift. Oh and my house smells incredible too with the roses and lilies.
What do you want for Mother’s Day? Or, what plans do you have for your mom?
With love,
Shahla

A couple of more hours to sleep (alone), a day in a spa and flowers in that order. That’s what I would ask for mother’s day. Those flowers look so great!
