We have been working on decorating my daughter’s dollhouse with various miniatures that are a mixture of purchased and created. Dollhouse miniatures can get quite expensive is what I have learned through this journey. That’s why I am excited to share some free printable miniature wallpaper and tile options at the end of this post. There are a variety of styles and colors. I hope you find some that suit your project!

As you may recall, a few years ago I purchased this dollhouse mostly for myself. When my daughter who was five at the time said she wanted a dollhouse, my husband said it would be weird if I did not give it to her. So I behaved like an “adult” and gifted it to my daughter. Last year we were inspired by Kwandaa from Tiny House Calls and her adorable Fixer Upper- inspired dollhouse. It was so fun decorating this one with my daughter! I want to redo so many parts of my house but for now I am doing things on a 1:12 scale, it’s just a tad more cost effective!
Awhile back I wrote a post about the IKEA Flisat shelf and how I transformed that into a dollhouse for under $40 (you can read that here). Here are some things I have used to create this dollhouse and minimize costs:
- Printable wallpaper, flooring and tiles that I made myself (and I’m sharing with you for free)
- I used wooden beads to create vases
- Golden pony beads were glued together to make candlesticks and also glued to the bottom of wooden discs to make cake stands
- Paper clips were opened, clipped and glued onto wooden pieces to make bar stools and plant stands
- I shrunk down book covers from Harry Potter and Magnolia Home and added them as covers to books
- Bed linens, pillows and blankets were made using fabric scraps and ribbon trim (I used cotton balls to stuff the pillows)
- Small scraps of fabric were turned into dishrags
- I used bottle caps and wrapped them with jute twine to turn them into hats and use as decor
- Balsa wood is your friend when it comes to creating dollhouse furniture! It is craft wood that you can cut with scissors and light enough to glue together. I used the balsa craft wood to create the miniature dollhouse toy in the nursery.

Here are the downloadable miniature wallpapers, artwork and flooring. I recommend printing on cardstock and using double sided tape to adhere. If there are any issues with the file, please let me know. I am happy to help!
