If you are planning on spending time outdoors, these packable visors are perfect for travel, sports, gardening and more. I found mine in the dollar bins at Target. Oh and this post contains affiliate links which means that I get a commission if you shop through these links, at no cost to you. Back to the visors…If your Target is sold out, check out this one also from Target or this one or this one.
I love spending time in the garden, it helps soothe my anxiety. I try to go out daily for a reset of my emotions. While vitamin D is great for my mood, I am trying to limit sun exposure to my face. Let’s be honest, I am getting close to 40 and retinol is my best friend…so the sun would probably melt my face off. Too dramatic? I thought so. Anywhoo…I keep this visor by the door so I always have sun protection nearby.
I wanted to add a little something to the visor to personalize them. A few years back, I shared this DIY sunhat post. I used the same method and added a little saying on the visors—Plant Lady for me and Plant Baby for my sweet helper in the garden. My daughter said she isn’t sure she wants to be my plant baby since I don’t have the best track record keeping plants alive. Yup my seven-year-old throws some shade even though she depends on me for pretty much everything. She isn’t wrong though…I don’t have that great of a track record. Progress over perfection, right? Please say right, please say right.
Once you figure out the saying you want on your visor, take sequin trim and form it into the words. Secure with a glue gun. I like to work with a pencil and use the eraser to position the sequin trim. I also like to write the saying on my hat/visor with a pencil to help guide my positioning. Again, if you want to see the step by step, check out this post.
Do you love to garden? Do you have a green thumb or the thumb of death like me?
With love,
Shahla
