This post has been sponsored by Samsung to bring you an honest review of the AirDresser. The opinions expressed are my own.
Staying on top of laundry is a struggle here and taking dry cleaning into the dry cleaners gets pushed way down on my priority list. That is why I was excited to try out the Samsung AirDresser, an innovative new product that helps keep your clothes fresh. Not only is it for freshening clothes in between taking them to the cleaners, it is also for cleaning hats, delicates, soft toys, outerwear, bedding and more. Read on to learn three ways we are using the Samsung AirDresser in our home.
Soft Toys
Anyone with kids knows that there are certain special toys and blankets (my kids call them lovies) that are risky to throw in the washer. We have a few lovies that are irreplaceable but definitely need to be cleaned because of how frequently my kids cuddle them. With the AirDresser I am able to sanitize their lovies and soft toys. The sanitizing cycle for soft toys takes a little over two hours, but the machine is so quiet that you barely hear it working. I usually press the silent function to avoid any chimes that may interrupt anyone’s work.
Throw Pillows and Household Textiles
The first thing my kids do when they go into the family room is toss all the throw pillows on the ground and pretend the floor is lava. Whenever I tell them to pick up the pillows they remind me that they are called “throw pillows” for a reason. While I can’t argue with them there, I CAN relax about how I am can freshen them up with the Samsung AirDresser.
This is where I really put the AirDresser to the test, getting the stink out of the throw pillows that are constantly on the ground. I placed a few pillows on the shelf in the AirDresser and chose the appropriate care recipe through the SmartThings app. The pillows came out fresh and sanitized!
My next household textile to tackle with the AirDresser will be our dusty bulky drapes!
Hats and Outerwear
You know when you go out to dinner wearing your favorite jacket and then go to wear that same jacket again and it smells like whatever restaurant you went to a few days prior? I don’t take my jackets and coats into the dry cleaners after every restaurant, but I also can’t wash them. This is where the AirDresser comes in. While the AirDresser does not replace the dry cleaners, it helps freshen up clothes in between trips to the cleaners. It has a built-in deodorizing filter that gets rid of stubborn odors (like smoke and food smells). I tested it out on my very dusty wool coats that I haven’t worn since January. The coats smelled musty prior to choosing the coat care recipe (the AirDresser has different “receipes” you can choose from based on the fabric or item you are freshening up). They came out looking great and without any musty odors.
I love that I have the ability to refresh my hats and scarves in less than 30 minutes using the AirDresser. Again, this is perfect as we are transitioning to fall and most of my hats have been sitting in my closet gathering dust.
Other Notes
It is no secret that we are big fans of Samsung appliances and electronics. We love that we are able to control our refrigerator, lights and now the Samsung AirDresser through our SmartThings hub on our mobile devices.
The AirDresser does not need to be hooked up to a water line; you just fill up the “refill tank” with filtered water and dispose of the “used water”. It plugs into a standard 120V outlet and has a slim and sleek design so you can put it wherever works best.
The AirDresser cannot wash clothes, so if your clothing item has a stain; it needs to be washed/treated. While there is a wrinkle care function, I still found myself taking an iron to my clothes to get them as crisp as I prefer.
