There is something about having an organized refrigerator that makes me feel so happy. Even though the rest of my house right now is a complete wreck when it comes to organization (or lack thereof), I just open the door to the refrigerator and take it all in. That sounds a little weird, right? Right. Although, I have to say I must not be alone since this refrigerator organization post from 2019 was one of my most popular posts.
Today I am sharing five items that I am loving for refrigerator organization. These things are also helping us stay organized. I have linked my favorite tools within this post and at the end. These are affiliate links which means I make a commission at no cost to you when you purchase through these links. Thanks so much for your continued support.
Turntable/Lazy Susan
Using a turntable or lazy Susan is one of my favorite storage solutions in many areas of my home. I have one in my spice cabinet for my most used items (salt/pepper, ghee, oil, etc.) and under my sinks for often used cleaning supplies. There are two of them in my refrigerator. I have a small one for our go-to breakfast items and a larger one for beverages. It keeps the refrigerator organized, saves me time from having to look for items in the back of the fridge AND makes it easier to clean spills/messes.
Labeler
I love my labeler and have had this same one for five years now. There are negative reviews in regards to the tape being wasted. I have minimized the waste by listing all the labels I want to make and printing them all at once with a few spaces between (and cutting them myself with scissors). That way you do not waste as much of the label tape. I also use this labeler to add names onto my children’s lunch containers. I have not had an issue with them coming off in the dishwasher. However, the labels do peel off nicely when I need them to.
Plastic Bins
There are so many plastic bins out there and I have tried a bunch of them. But I only have a few favorites. I love this set because you can buy them in bulk to save money. You can find these bins all over our house as they are great organization tools beyond the refrigerator.
These bins are the perfect size for the fridge and I love the handles. We also have plastic bins with the holes for fresh veggies/fruits.
Glass Storage Containers
Glass storage containers are a great way to keep leftovers, cut up fruit and vegetables organized in the refrigerator. I try to keep a lot of this at eye level for the kids to help themselves when they want a snack. It also helps keep me on track to eat healthier when fruits are washed and stored.
When you buy pasta sauce that comes in mason jars; keep them and reuse them for storing carrots, celery, berries, etc. This minimizes waste and saves money too.
Specialty Storage
We go through quite a bit of hardboiled eggs in this house. I love these egg containers. I purchased two and labeled each; one for raw and one for hardboiled eggs. Perfect for grabbing a couple when I am in a rush in the mornings (aka every morning!).
Another must-have in our house is this greens keeper. I wash our weekly lettuce mix and store it in here. Storing lettuce this way keeps it from wilting so fast.
