Our plans to ring in the new year involves staying at home in our sequined sweatpants and decorating with prints and disco balls. In all honesty, I have always been a bit of a homebody on New Year’s eve. Even before 2020, I would opt to stay cozy on the couch as opposed to going to a party. So you can say we have gotten pretty good at making this special for the kids. When the kids were younger, we would countdown to the new year at 9pm (or even 7pm in the earlier years). Now that they are older they want to make it to midnight and we let them, even if that means my husband and I are struggling to stay awake.
I have created these new year disco themed prints to help liven up your cozy party at home. The prints are available in 4×6 and 5×7 and are free for personal use.
There are also flags you can print (similar to the Polar Express / Boo Basket ones I made) and embellish for your party. My kids love making these themselves so it can be a fun craft as a family. All you need is a wooden dowel, skewer or even small twig would work! We use ribbons and sequins for embellishments.
Last but not least, I made 2021 themed labels for party poppers I found at the Dollar Tree. I love that they are sparkly and shaped like a champagne bottle. These were printed on pink cardstock. You can use regular paper too, but I like the opaque quality of the thicker paper. Once they are trimmed down to size, use double-sided tape to adhere them. Also, make sure to read and follow the directions on the poppers so no one gets hurt.
Here are the links to your free downloadable new year prints. Please do not use these for commercial projects or sell them. It has been a tough year for so many and I wanted to spread some good vibes to everyone at no cost.
Whatever you are planning for 2021, may you be safe, happy and healthy! Sending you all the good vibes.
With love,
Shahla
