Halloween has always been over the top at Treehouse Threads. I wouldn’t change it! Here is a collection of some of my favorite Halloween posts through the years. I have so many favorites that I had a hard time choosing. This made me realize that this may need to be a multipart series.
The Pumpkin Arch
This is one of my favorite Halloween posts and an oldie but goodie- one of the OG pumpkin arches. We created this in 2017 before pumpkin arches took social media by storm (look at how cringey my outfit was haha). The cost of this project is steep and I recommend buying the pumpkins on sale or even better, waiting until after Halloween and purchasing them for the next year. The plus side is that this is a project that will last through the years. The craft pumpkins have withstood the wind, heat and rain. We have only had to replace 3-4 of the pumpkins and that was because of poor storage on our end. Check out the entire post here!
Flying Bats
These flying bats are the easiest most adorable DIY yet! It’s the perfect addition to any Halloween party. You will want to jump on making these because the butterfly apparatus that I purchased to make these sold out when my post went viral last year. Check out the post here.
Blue and White Coastal Halloween
Coastal Halloween- I don’t know if this is a this is a thing but it was in my dining room last year. I wanted decor that went with the style of the room. I love decorating for holidays but I also get overwhelmed when it feels like clutter. So I wanted to add pieces that looked like the flowed in the space. All you need to create this look is a white pumpkin or ghost and floral napkin. Napkins are usually two-ply so I removed the plain backing and saved the decorative part to use for the project. I added a layer of mod podge and then pieces of my napkin. I then added another layer of mod podge and waited for it to dry. To create the bats I cut them using my Cricut ona Chinoiserie paper pack I purchased on Amazon.
Dollar Tree Skull Mantle Insert
The plastic Dollar Tree skulls have had so many makeovers on my blog and social media channels! My absolute favorite use for them was creating a fireplace insert using a thin piece of plywood and the plastic skulls. I loved the neutral fireplace I created a few years ago with pink bats. This past year I added moss to my insert to give more of a haunted library look. Read more about it here.
Checkered Bat Mantle and My Favorite Ghosts
Checkered bats? I say yes! Last year I experimented and created this look for our mantle. I took a popular star Christmas garland from Michael’s and spray painted it black. It was much cheaper than buying any of the Halloween garlands I was seeing online. I love how it all came together with my existing decor. You can see how I made the bats and download the checkered paper here!
Non-Candy Halloween Treat Idea – Croc Charm
I love handing out special treats to friends on Halloween (especially non-candy treats for our friends with allergies!). This croc printable was a huge hit last year! I have made it easy for you to create by offering the free printable for personal use on my site. You can print yours and find some fun croc charms here on this blogpost.
This wraps up my first Halloween round up! I have so many other ideas that I love, I couldn’t just do one. So stay tuned for my second installment. If you’re on social media make sure you are following me on there to see everything I am creating! Looking forward to celebrating spooky season with you!
With love,
Shahla
