This DIY scalloped table runner is the perfect addition to any Easter or party table setting. I loved the look of scalloped table runners and I wanted to see if I could create one that costs less. I made this beautiful blue one for around $20!
This is a no-sew tutorial, making it perfect for any crafter. However, if you have a sewing machine, you can definitely sew this for longevity. Scalloped Table Runner Supplies
- Table runner or fabric. I purchased this one.
- Two spools (around 8 yards) of this extra large rick rack trim – this blue one or I also love this yellow one
- Glue gun – I love my cordless glue gun
- Scissors
- Lighter to help seal frayed edges
Instructions
Start on one side and glue down the rick rack trim. I lined up my trim to the edge of the runner and simply started gluing down in sections. Once I got to the end I cut the trim and I glued down the parallel side. Lastly, I glued down trim on the ends. Before I glued down the corners I used a lighter to burn the edges to circumvent any frays. Ideally, I would sew this project so I could wash the runner if needed. But I am not the best seamstress, so this glue gun method will do just fine. I think it all turned out beautifully and I can’t wait to make a few more to use for various parties and themes.
What do you think?
