These oversized baseball cards were the perfect way to celebrate my baseball-obsessed son’s 11’th birthday. They are perfect for birthdays, graduations or team parties.
In this blogpost I am going to walk you through how I created them and share the template I created below. This post may contain affiliate links which means I earn commission when you shop through those links at no additional cost to you. Thanks so much for supporting the blog.
First, go through your photos and select your player’s pictures through the years. This had me in tears because how does time fly so quickly! I created a folder on my phone so that I could upload everything onto Canva. You need to have a Canva account to do this (it’s free to sign up- and I don’t charge you to use my template). I also edit the photos in my phone (brightness, shadows, etc.) so they are ready to go.
Editing the Baseball Cards in Canva
I tried to make the oversized baseball cards template super easy to edit. All you need to do is upload and add your pictures, add text and a team logo if you would like. You can even edit the borders to change the colors.
However, sometimes I get very frustrated with the editing functionality in Canva. A lot of times it is because of my internet connection with my phone. So, if you are having issues, take a break and move over to your computer or vice versa. Also it helps to use the lock and unlock function as you work on it.
Once you have your cards looking the way you want them to look download them onto your camera roll.
Now you are going to look online for the best deal for same day 11×14 prints. I have formatted these to print best at 11×14. When I printed out mine CVS was running a deal for $4 repositionable prints. This worked out great because I needed to glue these onto poster board to make them feel like real baseball cards. You can also simply glue them onto poster board yourself. The print quality at my local CVS wasn’t my favorite but I picked them up too late to try again.
I used painter’s tape to attach the oversized baseball cards onto our French doors with balloons for his big day. This way I can remove them without damaging the cards and save them.
Here is the template you can use to create yours. Other creators- Please don’t steal this for your sites. I have a code that will alert me if this shows up on another site and you will be held legally and financially responsible.
